JAGR RETURNS

After missing the previous four games with a persistent groin injury, Jagr decided Sunday to play with the ailment in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. The Penguins trail, 3-2 in the series.

Pittsburgh surprisingly won its first two games without Jagr, the NHL's leading scorer, but has lost the last two to fall behind in the series.

Jagr was noticeably hampered by the nagging groin injury when he attempted to skate hard in Saturday's optional skate, making his status questionable, at best, for Sunday. But he skated in warmups today and was in the starting lineup alongside Kip Miller and Jan Hrdina.

Jagr, 27, is the leading candidate for the Hart Trophy as most valuable player. But he was injured in the third period of the series opener on April 22.

Jagr recorded his third 100-point season in four years with 44 goals and 83 assists. He tied for second in goals and had 16 more assists than his closest pursuer.

SCHILLING'S CHEESE SNAPS DODGER STREAK

Curt Schilling lost twice last season to Kevin Brown but was determind to avoid that fate on Sunday. Leading 3-2 in the sixth, Schilling loaded the bases with no outs, but fanned Todd Hundley and Todd Hollandsworth after falling behind 3-0 on both hitters and got Adrian Beltre to ground out to end the threat. The Phillies then roughed up Brown and the Dodger bullpen to win 12-3, ending the Dodgers' five-game winning streak.
